A cautionary tale of ‘be careful what you wish for’.

At sixteen, Metztli’s only thrill was being a goth in her boring Mexican town. That is, until Lilu entered her life. Pale as a ghost, hiding from sunlight, and always drinking from a mysterious thermos, it was impossible to reach any other conclusion than she was a vampire.

In reality, Lilu was not a nosferatu, but she had been raised by one. Tesla had moved to the town with her to work as a medical intern at the local hospital. He cries tears of blood while watching horror movies, feeds exclusively on artificial blood, and has a sickening fixation on impressing his Sire.

When Metztli’s knowledge of all things goth impresses the vampire, she receives an offer she cannot refuse: to teach him about the ways of the night, darkness, and bloodsucking.

What starts as a fun, exciting bucket list soon reveals itself to be darker and more gruesome than she had expected. Because Tesla and Lilu may look harmless, but their kin is not.
