Let me tell you the about a little girl. She grew up reading all the books she could find at home, until her mother decided to get her something more appropriate than the Reader’s Digest.
Flash forward to the girl’s family getting a desktop computer. Her father said she only had twenty minutes a day for videogames. What else could she do in the PC? A word processor? That’s sounds like the kind of software parents approve! So she decided to write a story, and another, and another…
My biggest inspiration for writing about vampires came from Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Anne Rice’s vampires, but also, I’m a huge manga fan and stories like Hellsing creeped into my plots. Before writing horror, I used to lean on science fiction, therefore I’m not so fond of the “A wizard did it” trope. I like to explain how the world works through reason, and vampires are not the exception.
15 Things Every Vampire Must Do Before They Die is a story that I’ve been developing for almost a decade. It mixes quirky characters and vampires that function like real life creatures.
